Emily is the vice principal at Soul Dance on the Northside of Brisbane. Soul Dance is one of the leading bellydance schools in Brisbane founded by Margaret Cunningham and offers bellydance classes to women of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. Emily currently teaches beginner to advanced levels of bellydance classes at both petrie and Brisbane Dance Centre at Albion. Whether you are a complete beginner with two left feet or someone wanting to expand on your skills and improve technique, we will help you to achieve your goals.
Emily is dedicated to offering classes in a enjoyable, supportive and encouraging environment where women can flourish and progress at their own pace. Along with Oriental bellydancing, Emily also teaches an extensive range of other styles from around Egypt and the Middle East. Each term a new and interesting topic and style of dancing is introduced in classes, so you are continually learning and progressing.
Emily has completed a formal teacher training course with Egyptian master teacher Mo Geddawi, and Journey 1 & 2 through Egypt with cultural anthropologist Sahra Kent, a world-renowned belly dancer and teacher. These studies have allowed Emily to structure authentic and educational classes that give you the best insight on different aspects of Middle-eastern dance and culture.
Whether you want take up a new hobby, find an alternative, fun way to keep fit, connect with your sensual and feminine side, meet new people or just try something new, these classes will be perfect for you. No prior dance experience is required and all women of any age, shape or background are welcome. Emily is also available for private and small group tuition sessions.
